Pure Shea butter is a main ingredient in our LOVE Butters. Known as “Women’s Gold” in Africa, Shea butter has been used for both its medicinal and beautifying properties for generations. Therapeutic benefits of Shea butter include:

  • skin rejuvenation thru its high potency of vitamin A and E
  • helps to minimize and prevent stretch marks
  • fatty acids help soothe skin and joint inflammation

Shea butter is a sustainable mainstay crop for African villages and the harvesting of the nut is a vital part of the African village culture. This precious butter is an extraction of the nut from the Karite tree or “tree of life” as it is known in Africa. It takes 25 years for this tree to bear the fruits of the Karite nut and 40 to 50 years before the trees are in full production.
