The Practice Room is a Center for Yoga and Healing dedicated to each individual, novice to adept, who walks through the door. This Center is about you. At The Practice Room we are committed to the understanding that through conscious intention and the discipline of practice whole health, healing and transformation are possible.

 

christina and joe photoChristina Alexa Fortier is the founder of The Practice Room Center for Yoga and Healing and the Abhyasa Yoga Institute. She is certified at the 500 hour level within each discipline of Integrated Yoga Levels I and II, Resonance Yoga and Resonance Movement. Christina also holds certification in a 5 year intensive Resonance Healing Therapy program and is Resonance Healing Therapist, a Keeper of the Lodge, Reiki Master and mother of one. Additionally she attended the first Amrit Yoga Teacher Training in Rhode Island taught by Yogi Amrit Desai, founder of Kripalu Yoga and Amrit Yoga. At the age of 15 Christina began studying yoga in a quest for personal growth, healing and spiritual connection. Self taught for several years, she found her spiritual teacher at the age of 19 and spent the next 21 years in deep devotional service and self-study. Throughout this time Christina received several initiations by master teachers and healers of both the elemental/shamanic traditions as well as the yogic lineage. Christina has been sharing these practices through teaching and healing work for over 11 years, and draws from 25 years of personal healing and practice in her work.

 

Susan Decareau is a Nationally Certified, Licensed Massage Therapist with over 11 years experience delivering healing massage. A graduate of the North Eastern Institute of Whole Health, her modalities incorporate both Eastern and Western philosophies. Susan holds additional certifications in pre and post natal care, reflexology, deep tissue and neuromuscular work, stone massage therapy, healing facial massage care, traditional Thai massage and various spa therapies. Susan also enjoys on-going herbalist studies as a complementary adjunct to her massage work. She is a skilled crafter of homemade skin care products and remedies (for sale here at The Practice Room). Her goal as a Massage Therapist is to provide both a therapeutic and relaxing experience for her clients. Periodically Susan offers workshops at The Practice Room in Couple’s Massage, Hand Crafting Body Care Products, Home Products, Aromatherapy and more. Susan also offers a Continuing Education Courses for massage therapists interested in obtaining CEU credits.
